Natural Teeth Whitening

There are many options available to people looking to explore various teeth whitening methods from the very expensive cosmetic dentist choices, which offer quick, dramatic results, to more moderately priced at-home treatments. But there are also many natural teeth whitening options available using everyday products you’ll find in your home. Most of the home remedy options will bring you varying levels of success and will require patience beforeyou will see results.

We will assume that you are already using the basic teeth whitening strategy of brushing your teeth at least twice a day, possibly with a toothpaste containing baking soda. So we’ll move straight on to further options you can try.

  • Make a toothpaste using salt, baking soda and a 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and water which you can then apply to the teeth. Note: be very careful when using peroxide not to use too much and never swallow it. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully.
  • Eating crunchy fruit and vegetables will help in removing bacteria from the teeth and the fibre will act as a natural toothbrush.
  • Avoid drinking beverages such as tea, coffee and colas.
  • Some people suggest using strawberries to whiten teeth but caution that the mouth must be rinsed thoroughly afterwards to remove residual sugars.
  • Rub the bark of a walnut tree over the teeth will help in removing stains on the teeth.
  • An effective home remedy for teeth whitening is to add lemon juice and salt and applying it to the teeth.
  • Orange peel rubbed on the teeth is said to be an affective method of teeth whitening.
  • Another teeth whitening strategy is to brush your teeth with 100% apple cider vinegar.
  • Use finely ground wood ash mixed in with your toothpaste and brush slowly and lightly.

It almost goes without saying that none of the teeth whitening methods listed above are recommedations. if you’re in any doubt, consult your dentist first.

LumaArch Teeth Whitening

How Does LumaArch Work?

The LumaArch teeth whitening system is LumaLite Inc’s teeth whitening product. It uses a hydrogen peroxide based bleaching compound in the form of a paste known as LumeWhite that has a 35% hydrogen peroxide concentration.

Once the paste has been applied to the teeth a xenon-halogen bleaching light that is manufactured by LumaLite specifically for the procedure is placed into position. The light simultaneously illuminates all of the patient’s teeth which means that the process is relatively quick.

LumaArch teeth whitening treatments usually take a little less that an hour. The bleaching session is broken down to three individual applications of the LumaWhite teeth whitener that each last for approximately 8 minutes.

There is no at-home treatment required after the LumaArch teeth whitening treatment has been completed in-chair. However LumaLite does make an at-home paint-on whitening product known as StayBright that can be used at the patient’s discretion.

LumaArch provides around a 2 to 4 shade range of tooth whitening with the single 40 minute treatment, but the recommendation is that 3 to 4 visits may be necessary to get the desired brightening.

The cost of the LumaArch teeth whitening treatment can be around $500.00 for a combination of in-chair and at-home treatments. This price will vary from dentist to dentist so further research is advisable.
